As the parent organization, FES provides the foundation and support that enable affiliates like Filament Essential Services and Filament Information Security to deliver high-quality, mission-aligned solutions.

Filament Information Security operates alongside Filament Essential Services under the FES umbrella. As a nonprofit entity, we benefit from FES’s comprehensive support structure, allowing us to focus on our specialized services. This relationship enhances our ability to provide effective and mission-aligned security solutions, leveraging the broader expertise and resources of FES.

Meet the Team

Our team has built and maintained a Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) compliant network, consistently earning the Tech Lock Certification™, a gold standard for securing Federal Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Additionally, we pass Department of Education compliance audits and maintain NIST 800-53 compliance. Our mission is to extend our proven security expertise and best practices to target rich and cyber poor organizations.

Art Provost

VP of Security Services
Art joined Filament in 2011 and has been working in the Information Security arena for 30 years. He has held positions in operations, implementation, design and engineering, audit, and Information Security management in the U.S. Air Force, multiple Fortune 500 companies, and Information Security consulting companies.

He received his Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² – Certificate 49461; Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) – Certificate 37546, GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN) – Certificate 10970, and GIAC Web Application Penetration Tester (GWAPT) – Certificate 6435; and a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) – Certificate 0405011.

Tyler Malcom

Security and Compliance Analyst
Tyler joined Filament in 2022 and has worked in various roles within the cyber field.

He graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2012 and joined the US Navy in 2015. Tyler completed the Joint Cyber Analysis Course (JCAC) and was assigned to Navy Information Operations Command (NIOC) Hawaii as part of a Cyber Protection Team, which focused on host and network defense. He was then assigned to NIOC Georgia on the Combat Mission Team where he became a certified Exploitation Analyst focused on offensive computer network operations.

He received his Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from the (ISC)² – Certificate 676613 and the Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) – Certificate 54682.

Keri Kunkle

Security and Compliance Analyst
Keri joined Filament in 2023 and brings a wealth of experience to the cybersecurity landscape, having served in various pivotal roles within the field. After serving in the United States Marine Corps, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Information System Security from the American Military University in 2019.

Keri embarked on a journey with the US Department of Defense at Camp Pendleton, California, as a Principal Cybersecurity Advisor and Information System Security Manager. She then graduated with a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Western Governors University in 2021.

Keri has the CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner, EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker, EC-Council Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator and CompTIA Security+ certifications.
